Withdrawal
Well I did it. I accidentally messed up my meds. . . It started last week when I went to load my pill dispenser for the week and made an error. I put in only 1 of the 50mg tablet. . . . . I use to only put one 50mg tablet and a 100mg tablet that looked different.. . . . . but with change of insurance details I now put 3 of the 50mg tablet to get to that magical 150mg dose. . . .
I started feeling funny after about 3 days and by day 5 I knew something was wrong. On day 5 when I took my meds I caught my error that I wasn't taking enough. I was feeling really depressed, couldn't sleep without my weighted blanket, phases of being really edgy and can't sit still and phases of having trouble getting off the couch, no motivation, then that night I became real nauseous and started throwing up. Withdrawal
The vomiting was the last straw for me. If I can't keep just water down how can I keep my meds down to let them build back up in my system. At about 4:30 am after calling a nurse line I decided to go to the ER. Waiting can be hard anyways but waiting though withdrawal is horrible! Somehow I make it though the lobby and got to the room. It still took what seemed like a really long time for the doctor to see me. After a while one nurse did bring me a blanket which helped. They gave me iv fluids and something to calm my anxiety attacks and edginess. That happed a lot. It made me sleepy so I finally go to really rest.
After some Uber rides home then to the pharmacy I was able to get what I needed to wait the rest out. I am finally keeping things down and feeling better. I'm not shaking any more and grateful for the medications we have to help withdrawal. It doesn't make it go away perfectly but can give your body a bit of a break.
Takeaways
No matter if you have done something with your meds intentionally or unintentionally keep in good honest communication with your doctor.
Withdrawal might be hard but you are a survivor and can make it though this
Don't be afraid to triple check your meds. I already do a double check but might add a triple check in there.
